Volkswagen Care is offered in several plan tiers, with each plan covering different service intervals based on your vehicle model year and mileage. For model year 2018 and newer vehicles, Volkswagen Care plans are organized around factory-recommended scheduled maintenance milestones.

Volkswagen Care Basic covers the 10,000-mile and 20,000-mile manufacturer-recommended scheduled maintenance intervals. This plan includes foundational services such as oil and filter changes, multi-point inspections, and other items specified in the vehicle USA Warranty and Maintenance booklet for those intervals.

Volkswagen Care Extra covers the 30,000-mile manufacturer-recommended scheduled maintenance interval, which typically includes additional inspection items beyond the services performed at 10,000 and 20,000 miles.

Volkswagen Care Plus Package 1 covers the 40,000-mile and 50,000-mile intervals. Volkswagen Care Plus Package 2 covers the 60,000-mile and 70,000-mile intervals. Additional packages may extend coverage further for higher-mileage owners.

Volkswagen Care covers only the specific services listed in the vehicle USA Warranty and Maintenance booklet for the applicable maintenance intervals. Items not covered include mechanical breakdown repairs, hoses, brake pads and linings, wheel alignment and balancing, and any services not included on the manufacturer recommended maintenance schedule. Volkswagen Care is a maintenance plan, not a warranty or extended service contract. For repairs and mechanical coverage beyond the factory warranty, a separate extended service agreement would apply.

Volkswagen Care plans may be financed as part of your vehicle loan or lease when purchased at the time of sale, spreading the cost over the same term as your vehicle payment. Plans can also be purchased before the first scheduled maintenance interval comes due, giving new Volkswagen owners a window to add coverage after taking delivery.

Volkswagen Care is a purchasable prepaid plan, not complimentary maintenance. However, all 2016 and newer Volkswagen models include 24-Hour Roadside Assistance for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This included benefit covers no-charge towing, battery jump-start service, flat tire service, and fuel delivery service. Roadside Assistance is separate from the Volkswagen Care maintenance program and comes with every new Volkswagen at no additional cost.
