2024 Volkswagen ID.4 vs Honda Prologue Battery, Range, Power
🡫
The 2024 Volkswagen ID.4’s base 201-hp single motor with rear-wheel drive delivers 206 miles of EPA-estimated range with the 62 kWh battery on Standard and S. For 2024, the VW ID.4’s new performance drive unit for 82 kWh models now makes 282 hp in RWD models, and AWD models now make max 335 hp with an asynchronous electric motor on the front axle. As a result, RWD Pro and Pro S are capable of traveling up to 291 miles on a full charge, while AWD Pro and Pro S can travel up to 263 miles. The Honda Prologue gets 296 miles of range using a 212-hp single motor FWD setup with the larger 85.0-kWh battery or 281 miles with available 288-hp dual-motor AWD.
Despite good driving range, the Honda Prologue’s lower power output and 1,500-lb tow rating doesn’t stand a chance when up against the ID.4. The VW ID.4 comes with a trailer hitch for up to 2,700 lbs of towing capacity on AWD Pro and Pro S, while RWD models are rated to tow 2,200 lbs. All ID.4 models are equipped with a Combined Charging System socket for home and public charging. At a home or public Level 2 charger, the 11kW onboard charger lets you fully charge in approximately 6 hours and 15 mins with the 62kWh battery and 8 hours with the 82kWh battery. The VW ID.4 has a 140-kW DC fast-charge rate for Standard and S and a 175-kW DC fast-charge speed for Pro models with the 82kWh battery, and it allows all trims to DC fast charge from 10-80% in around 30 mins—which is faster than the Prologue’s 35-min 20-80% DC fast charge time.
