The 2024 Atlas Cross Sport is a mid-size SUV delivering increased fuel economy for the new model year. The all-new Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport drops the previously offered VR6 engine and replaces it with a new turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder engine that gets more power and torque, including up to 269 horsepower and increased 273 lb-ft of torque as well as better fuel efficiency, and all models come with an 8-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic.

Front-wheel-drive 2024 VW Atlas Cross Sport models, including SE and SE with Technology, are expected to produce up to an EPA-estimated 20 MPG city, 27 MPG highway and 23 combined MPG. Adding 4MOTION all-wheel drive gets the SUV slightly decreased gas mileage, including up to 19 MPG city, 26 MPG highway and 22 MPG combined for SEL with 4MOTION, SEL R-Line with 4MOTION and SEL Premium R-Line with 4MOTION.
